Hi, I am having problems with my CRV's power windows, particularly on the driver's side. It has stopped going all the way up on its own and you have to give it a push so that it will shut completely. My friend who owns a CRV has the same problem and another friend who drives a Honda as well also encountered problems with the power windows. The contact owns a Honda crv. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, she noticed that the front driver side window was released in the downward position without assistance.
The failure occurred before accessing the parked vehicle. There was an extremely strong burning odor inside of the vehicle. The contact discovered that the front driver side power window control mechanism was melted within the door housing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they informed the contact that the wiring harness would need to be replaced.
The repair part was ordered and when the part became available, the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 99, The contact stated that the driver? The contact personally replaced the master power window switch.
The vehicle was repaired prior to the recall report date. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in with NHTSA campaign id number 12v electrical system , visibility.
Regarding Honda crv. Problem - drivers side window auto function not working properly. Problem began prior to the vehicle reaching 30, miles. Window stops going up as if it hit an obstruction. Sometimes will not go down at all. Dealer wouldn't identify the problem for another 10, miles, but it was determined that the window regulator had too much play in it. The contact had to stop the vehicle 50 times to clear the windows manually. The dealer and Honda stated there was nothing they could do to assist him with diagnosis.
The contact indicated the safety risk involved. The current and failure mileage were Power windows failure. Both rear door power locks froze up making the doors unable to be unlocked manually or with power either from the inside or the outside of the vehicle.
